Port Orford is on the
south coast of Oregon 26 miles south of Bandon and 27 miles north
of Gold Beach on Highway 101. The closest commercial airport is in
North Bend, 50 miles to the north or in Crescent City, California,
85 miles to the south.
There are functional private airports in Bandon and in Gold Beach. There
is a 5100 foot air strip about 8 miles north of Port Orford that can be used
by private pilots who are familiar with the area. It's called the Blanco
State Airport.
Port Orford is served by Greyhound Bus Lines which serves the
entire coast of Oregon on Highway 101. Buses stop at the Circle
K on Hwy. 101 & 9th
St.
To get here from Interstate
5 there are three main cutoffs to the coast and Highway 101:
Highway 38 near Cottage Grove/Eugene
area to Reedsport then south on 101 for 75 miles.
Highway 42 from Roseburg area
to Coquille, then 42S to Bandon, then 101 south to Port Orford.
From Grants Pass area take Highway
199 to Crescent City, then north on 101 for 85 miles.
